Network Expertise
Today's integrated security systems are no longer stand alone systems that operate independently from the rest of a facility. Systems are more frequently integrated into the LAN and WAN infrastructure of a company's network. Varia has in-house MCSE expertise that allows us to configure our IP based security systems to fit our customers' requirements. We can integrate our system into a customer's existing network or build stand-alone IP security networks including the copper and fiber infrastructure, network switches and routers. We can create segmented VLANs to separately route video and security traffic off of a common corporate network. Varia will also work with our customers' network administrators to provide remote connectivity to allow the customer to monitor their video or card access systems remotely. Varia has in-house RCDDs to assist in the design of the customer's network cabling infrastructure.
In-House Computer-Aided Design
Varia's in-house computer-aided designers give us a unique ability to layout all security room rack and wall details as well as guard console layouts prior to any installation. After an initial design we will meet onsite with the client and make necessary revisions. This process eliminates chance and miscommunications on the layout in the most critical spaces on the project. In addition, all floor plans are labeled with all security devices and with a unique labeling scheme for each security point.
Training
The backbone of Varia Systems, Inc. is our employees and a key to an employee's success is their job knowledge and training. Varia makes sure that all employees receive extensive training for their individual specialty. This includes continuing education throughout each employee's tenure with Varia. We utilize training programs directly from the manufacturers that we represent, in-house trainings conducted by our Foremen, as well as industry trade organizations.
Documentation
All integrated security projects are finalized with the delivery of a documentation package. Whether the customer wants the package in a binder or CD format, the following documentation is provided; final as-built floor plans showing device locations with unique identifiers, security symbol legend, security riser diagrams, door type details, device schedules, controller and power supply schedules, and job site photos of each control closet and sample device installations.
Licensing & Permits
Varia is licensed to perform low voltage construction work in all of Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. We pull of our own low voltage permits in coordination with the General Contractor's building permit.
