Structured Cabling Qualifications

BICSI Certifications

Varia is one of only a few contractors in the Mid-Atlantic area to be recognized with the BICSI Prestige Platinum status. With BICSI certified and factory-trained technicians, on-staff RCDDs and TPMs our team has the experience to provide the stable, reliable network infrastructure to exceed client requirements and meet any associated project schedules.

In-House Computer-Aided Design

Varia's in-house computer-aided designers give us a unique ability to layout all communications rooms and cable pathways prior to any installation. After an initial design we will meet onsite with the client and make necessary revisions. This process eliminates chance and miscommunications on the layout in the most critical spaces on the project. In addition, all floor plans are labeled with a unique labeling scheme defined by the customer. This labeling scheme shows up at five places for every installed cable; (1) on the floor plan, (2) on the faceplate plate, (3) on a wrap around cable label at the jack end, (4) on a wrap around cable label behind the patch panel, and (5) on the patch panel.

Training

The backbone of Varia Systems, Inc. is our employees and a key to an employee's success is their job knowledge and training. Varia makes sure that all employees receive extensive training for their individual specialty. This includes continuing education throughout each employee's tenure with Varia. We utilize training programs directly from the manufacturers that we represent, in-house trainings conducted by our Foremen, as well as industry trade organizations such as BICSI (www.bicsi.org).

Documentation

All structured cabling projects are finalized with the delivery of a documentation package. Whether the customer wants the package in a binder or CD format, the following documentation is provided; manufacturer's certification, final as-built floor plans showing cable pathways and unique cable identifiers, backbone riser diagrams, copper test results for each installed cable, fiber optic test results for each installed fiber strand, horizontal and vertical rack layouts, and job site photos of each wiring closet.

Licensing & Permits

Varia is licensed to perform low voltage construction work in all of Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. We pull of our own low voltage permits in coordination with the General Contractor's building permit.

What our clients say

"I cannot thank you enough for your help yesterday, but let me try. After working a full eight-hour day, two of your techs agreed to work late to help me out. They are a credit to your company and their professional work ethic is beyond reproach."
